This report was first published in October, 1987 with a grant from
The Commonwealth Fund.  The report was developed with the help
of two interdisciplinary advisory panels as a resource for organizations
with an interest in issues related to medication use and/or a mandate
to serve or represent the older population and with the intention
of laying the groundwork for planning an education campaign to 
improve prescription use among older adults.  Many of the issues 
and opportunities presented in the report remain relevant
