Do Your Medicines Contain Acetaminophen?

Create a personal list of acetaminophen-containing products after reviewing the 2 lists above and comparing them to any medicines that you are taking.

IMPORTANT: *Always look for acetaminophen, APAP, acet, acetamin or acetaminoph in the list of ingredients, regardless of whether the OTC or prescription medicines are store brand or generic. Ask your pharmacist or healthcare professional if you have questions about the ingredients in your medicine. Pay particular attention to:

  • The store brand products that are similar to brands like Tylenol®, NyQuil® and Robitussin®.
  • Prescription medicines that come in generic form that may list the ingredients in place of a drug name. (For example, “hydrocodone and acetaminophen” appears on the generic version of “Vicodin”). Your prescription label may list the ingredients, the brand name or both.
